Graduate Teaching Assistant

O’Shae Best is a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UW-Madison pursuing a MM in Wind Conducting under the direction of Scott Teeple. While at UW-Madison, O’Shae will be assisting with both the UW Marching Band and various concert bands. Prior to attending UW-Madison, O’Shae was the Director of Bands at Bessemer Middle School in rural North Carolina for three years. O’Shae graduated from East Carolina University in 2014 with a BM in Music Education (K-12 licensure) where he studied euphonium with Tom McCaslin, current Principal Tuba of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and conducting with Dr. Scott Carter. Throughout his collegiate career, O’Shae served as President of the ECU chapter of CNAFME and president of the Zeta Psi chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.
