- February 1, 2010: Tickets for this year's Varsity Band Concert are now for sale! Click the large red
link above if you are interested, and you should be. If you ever watched the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, then
you may recognize one of our guest musicians: Ed Shaughnessy, the drummer for the Tonight Show Band!
- January 25, 2010: As many know, this school year is the 100th Anniversary of our fight song, "On, Wisconsin!"
You can learn about the history of the university's time-honored fight song at the UW-Madison Libraries archives. Anyone with musical abilities
should enter the "On, Wisconsin" video contest!
- January 20, 2010: We have a (tentative) list of varsity band run-out concerts up now! There are two more
concerts that have yet to be confirmed, but we should have information on those by January 27th. Varsity Band members are encouraged
to visit the Member's Only section and sign up for the concerts they will be able to attend (if we add concerts at a later date, you can sign
up for those when we know more).
- January 12, 2010: Hey everyone! Are you good at singing or even just bored? Record yourself singing "On, Wisconsin!" in
celebration of our fight song's 100th anniversary and enter the "On, Wisconsin!" video contest. There are no rules and you can e-mail your entries
to onwisconsin@uc.wisc.edu. For more information, go to their
page. Catch the "On, Wisconsin!" half-hour documentary on the Big Ten Network at 3:30 CST on January 26th.
- December 17, 2009: Band kids! Check out the members only section of the site and submit your sweatshirt/bowl wear sizes. Also, make
sure to follow UWMarchingBand on Twitter, for bowl updates! Lastly, if you weren't following our Twitter
for the band banquet, we have all of the 2009 award winners up on the Awards page.
- November 17, 2009: Congrats to tuba section leader Craig Martens and senior clarinet
/Kayla Eick on their fantastic engagement during last Saturday's football game. The Wisconsin
Marching Band wishes them the best of luck!
